Battle of the Books!

 

Jordan Sonnenblick, author of some really awesome YA books, is visiting Hunt on Monday, December 12th in the afternoon.  In order to garner some interest in his books, the librarian at Scoggins (Mrs. Turner) and I decided to have a Battle of the Books!

Each campus would have their students read as many pages of Jordan Sonnenblick's books as possible.  The top readers would then participate in the trivia battle.  We Skyped with Scoggins thanks to help from my technology guru.

The kids had a BLAST!  The technology worked, the kids answered questions like crazy.  There was even clapping and cheering happening in the library.  Scoggins was quite a formidable foe!  We were head to head for most of the competition.  Mrs. Turner gave us two points for a spectacular answer: Acute Lymphoma Leukemia.  That gave us the edge.  In the end, despite Scoggins' awesomeness, we WON!
