Wow. I can't believe I haven't posted in a couple of months. I've been reading, I promise.
But! I just heard exciting news about Veronica Roth's 3rd book. She's officially titled it. She has casually been using the title Detergent in her blog posts. But no more!

Son
Son by Lois Lowry
Summary: When her son was taken from her community, Claire knew she had to follow. This is the final book in The Giver quartet.
Thoughts: I actually really enjoyed this book. I was surprised. This isn't an action book, there is little adventure, and a lot of dialogue. However, if you liked Messenger and Giver, you'd enjoy this book.

The One and Only Ivan
Summary: Ivan is a gorilla. He lives in the mall off of I-95. That's his domain. He has friends, of course. There's Stella the elephant, Bob the dog, and Julia, the girl who shares her crayons with him. He's an artist after all. When Ruby, the baby elephant, comes to live at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall, his perspective on his life and his domain begin to change.
Thoughts: I thought this was a sweet, easy read. It's written almost in a prose style and from Ivan's point of view. This is a perfect book for unwilling 6th graders. Or for anyone who loves animals.
